The Deering Banjo Company teamed up with the Grand Ole Opry to create the 80th Anniversary commemorative model banjo of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN. As a fitting tribute to the Opry’s reputation for “the best of all things country,” Deering Banjos has created a limited edition, richly stained, rock maple banjo with a distinctive Opry star and note design on the peghead and fingerboard and an additional Special Opry Goodtime model from their ever-popular American-made Goodtime banjos. Deering’s Tenbrooks banjos are the latest evolution in banjo sound and construction, a fitting tribute to the longevity of the Opry tradition. The Grand Ole Opry banjo includes the original Deering tonering, slender new armrest design, and the new Deering tailpiece. Only 80 of the Commemorative Grand Ole Opry banjos will be made. A unique and memorable addition for any banjo collection, the Grand Ole Opry banjo will retail for only £3,360. The charming, lightweight Special edition Opry Goodtime 2 resonator banjo with a colorful Grand Old Opry logo on the peghead and resonator, retailing for £649, will made available throughout the 80th Anniversary year and for a short period beyond to allow Opry fans and banjo enthusiasts more time to add to their collections!

G2 Bluegrassband are Sweden's very own young, cool and ridiculously good Bluegrass band. Formed at a festival in the Fall of 2005, G2 quickly got to work mixing up their own Scandinavian blend of bluegrass, building around singer Christoffer Olssons soulful, mellow voice. G2 Bluegrass Band are made up of 5 members: Christoffer Olsson on guitar & vocal; Erik Igelstrm on mandolin; Tobias Strmberg on dobro & vocal; Jimmy Sunnebrandt on acoustic bass & vocal and finally Jens Koch on banjo.
Considered one of the premier bluegrass fiddlers of his generation, Mike picked up a fiddle at age four, and his talent was recognized early. In 1993 he was chosen to be part of the Bluegrass Youth All Stars at the IBMA's award show. Later that year Mike made his Grand Ole Opry debut as a guest of Alison Krauss. His list of guest apperances over the years is a who's who of bluegrass legends including Bill Monroe, Jim and Jesse, Ralph Stanley, Mac Wiseman, Doc Watson, Larry Sparks, Doyle Lawson, and J.D. Crowe. After high school Mike briefly toured with then-named Dale Ann Bradley and Coon Creek before joining Rhonda Vincent and The Rage in 2000.
